Fulfill your goals in pre-veterinary medicine by majoring in biology at Missouri State. Here are the steps and requirements you need to complete.
Your first steps: Declare your major
- Become a Bear: Apply to Missouri State. (If you’re not already a current student.)
- Before completing 60 credit hours, contact the Academic Advising and Transfer Center to declare or change your major to biology.
After you declare: Choose your degree and complete the program requirements
A non-comprehensive biology degree (BA or BS) is perfect for your pre-veterinary goals.
It's also ideal if you wish to pursue a minor or second major.

The biology department also offers a comprehensive biology degree (BS) for those who want to narrow their focus in biology.
This path does not require a minor or second major. You'll also pick from one of the following option areas:
