Research and professional interests

My research focuses on how animal evolution and ecology is impacted by rapid environmental changes, such as habitat loss, climate change, urbanization, and seasonal cycles. An ongoing area of research in the lab is understanding microevolutionary processes (like adaptation) in bats afflicted by the white-nose syndrome epidemic, a disease caused by an introduced fungal pathogen.
